It is okay for me....they are human being afterall....they lived under pressure...probably their dark side will grow bigger and turn wild........no one can escape from the attraction of dark side....especially if the world full of too much competition and jealousy....good can turn bad too!!!

Idolizing people is dangerous -- as you recently discovered.

No matter who we idolize, we only have a glimpse into their lives and their character. It is likely to gleen better results if we focus on traits that we consider admirable rather than entire people who are a combination of all sorts of traits.

I would let the prof know that you considered them a role model, but because X happened, you now hope to regain your respect for him/her. They may not care. It could be that no one has ever told them about their behaviour and the impact it has on others.

the only way i would respect a professor is if he\she beats me in an IQ test....other than that i assume that professor cheated his\her way through college just like 97% of the human race.
