"The Trouble with Angels"

Sunshine MacGillicutty was coming out of the Mercantile when she froze in her tracks! The posse was returning.........And Matt was slung over his saddle!! She dropped her packages and ran over to him.
Sunshine:"Matt? MATT?!"
Festus:"He's alive , Miss Sunshine. We'll get him up to Doc's right away."
The townsfolk gathered, as U.S.Marshal Matt Dillon was carried up the long flight of stairs to Doc Adams' office.
They laid him gently on the table, bowed their heads and silently left the room; All but Festus and Sunshine.
Doc:"What happened?"
Festus:"We were ambushed , Doc. Matthew was caught in the crossfire." Doc determined he had been shot three times.
There was one bullet in the leg and a flesh wound to the forehead; But it was the bullet in the back that most concerned him.
Festus:"It's all my fault. I was the one who suggested taking the trail up near Banker's Bluff." He hung his head.
Doc:" (2)No one, no one, no one ever is to blame, Festus. You did what you thought was right.....And Matt must have thought it was a good idea, too."
Sunshine held the strainer over Matt's face as Doc administered the anesthesia. The bullet in the leg was easy to get to. The wound to the forehead was fairly superficial; But the bullet in the back was lodged by Matt's spine. After a three hour surgery, Doc finally extracted the piece of lead that threatened his ability to ever walk again.

Doc:"Now....We just need to wait and see." He looked at Sunshine......"You've been awfully quiet."
Sunshine:"When do you think he'll be coming to, Doc?"
Doc:"I can't say. I just can't say."
Sunshine kissed Matt gently, whispered in his ear, and turned to leave......"When he wakes up, tell him that the bastards who shot him are dead and buried!!"
Doc:"I'll do no such thing! And YOU are NOT going out there!!
Look what they did to MATT?! Don't be absurd!"
Sunshine thanked Doc for all he had done.
"(3) Some break the rules and live to count the cost. These particular outlaws will NOT live !!" She closed the door behind her.

Within an hour, Sunshine and Festus took off in search of the Fletcher Gang. Festus kept looking at her. He'd never seen her like this. Gone was the perpetual, impish smile. In it's place was a look of steel-like determination.
Festus:"Miss Sunshine? Matthew is never gonna forgive me for this!! He'll have my hide for taking you into the Badlands!"
Sunshine:" I'm going with or without you, Festus. Matt'll be glad you stood by my side."
Festus:"By golly! I'll stick close to your side, and that's a
'gar an TEE,' Miss Sunshine!"

They rode for three hours. As they entered the high country, Festus suddenly stopped and moved his head, listening for something that Sunshine could not hear....."Ssssshhhhh. I think they're nearby." Sunshine signaled with her hand that they should split up. Before Festus could protest, she was gone.
He decided to get off his mule, Ruth, and creep up on what he reckoned was their campsite. Just as he started to draw his gun, there was a great commotion to his left. Sunshine's horse had been spooked by a rattlesnake and bucked her off!!

The outlaws heard this and came running. Festus killed two of them. The third one got a shot off in his direction, grazing the side of his head.Festus watched in horror as Fletcher walked over to Sunshine. He kicked her to see if she was alive.
Sunshine grabbed his boot, twisting with all her might!! Screaming in pain, he fell to the ground. Sunshine grabbed her pistol and shoved it in his mouth!!
Festus yelled out...."(4) You can feel the punishment but you can't commit the sin, Miss Sunshine !! DON'T. "
As Sunshine was withdrawing her firing arm from his mouth, Fletcher cried in agony. The rattlesnake had bitten him.

BREAK TO COMMERCIAL

The first thing Sunshine did when she returned to Dodge was to hobble up the stairs to Doc's office. Doc took one look at her and tried to get her to sit down . She brushed him aside and went into the back room to see Matt.
Matt:"SUNSHINE!! Thank God!!" She sat down on the bed next to him and fell into his arms.
Sunshine:"Don't yell at me, Matt. Just hold me,please."
Matt saw that she was hurt...."Doc! Get in here!"
As she was having her ankle bandaged she asked about Matt's injuries.
Doc:"Due to the unCANNY skill of his personal surgeon, Matt is going to be just fine." Sunshine smiled and kissed him!
Matt started to get up but fell back.
Sunshine:"The (1) Doctor says you're cured but you still feel the pain, baby."
Matt:"It's nothing compared to the pain I felt when I knew you had gone after Fletcher and his men. I don't know what I'm going to do with you."
Doc:"I think she's an angel, Matt."
Matt smiled at her, touching her cheek..... "The trouble with my little angel is that she is always bound to fly away. "
Sunshine:" But I always come back to you, baby." Matt held her tightly.
Doc:" (5) And you want her and she wants you!"

And some break the rules and live to count the cost of thier mistakes. Yet for you...you can feel the punishment; but you can't commit the sin again and again and again without hurting someone. There has to be a cost!

"okay, david, so how have you been lately?" the therapist asked as the two sat deathly still in the room,
"Why do i even have to be here?" He asked irritated.
"The Doctor says youre cured, but you still feel the pain." the therapist replied.
David sat silently, staring out the window.
"No one, no one is ever to blame, David." the therapist said, as he tried to get david to look at him.
"Some break the rules And live to count the cost." David said, his eyes glazing over as he stopped seeing what was there, and his mind wandered back to what happened then.
"You can feel the ounishment, but you cant commit the sin." the therapist said, scribbling on his pad as he looked david over again and again.
"But ive messed everything up." David replied.
"And you want her and she wants you! She still loves you even after all of this. I think its time you talked to her, and explain everything."
