Poll: How many Tylenols is too many?

Migraine---- im willing to go up to the point just before cardiac arrest.
Suggestions?

Oh darlin, no more than 2 at a time. Got any ibuprofen? You can take 2 Tylenol with 4 ibuprofen. Or run up to Walgreen's, there's got to be one near you, there's one on every corner for gods sake, and get some Excedrin Migraine. Its awesome! I use it a lot. But it does have caffeine, so you might still be on here when I wake up in the morning! =) If you have a cold are you sure its not a sinus headache?

Try Excedrin migraine - good stuff - it contains caffeine, however. If you need to sleep, you could try something with benadryl (diphenhydramine hydrochloride) - 'cause 25 mg of that will make you sleep.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) - regular tabs, 325 mg each, you can take each 4 hrs to a maximum of 12 tablets in a 24-hour period, or ex-strength tab (500 mg) can be taken every six hours up to a maximum of eight tablets in a 24-hour period.
There is also Ibuprofen, name-brand Advil or Motrin, of which you can take 800 mg, every 6-8 hours.
Too much tylenol can damage your liver.
Too much ibuprofen can upset your stomach or cause ulcers.
If your migraines are very severe, you can talk to you dr. to prescribe other med's that might help.

Read the bottle, or call your doctor...
mine are 650 mg. so, no more
than 4 a day. There is no cure and
pain relief is temporary at best.
A migraine itself is not the problem,
it is just the symptom of a larger
problem. Poor posture is usually at
the bottom of it. It causes a lessening
of oxygen to the brain. The pain is the
brains way of telling you this. Any neck
strain and or stress, may cause the symptoms
to become worse. A good exam and
extensive testing may be your answer.

If Tylenol isn't working at the recommended dose, try something else. Tylenol doesn't do anything for my headaches, but Ibuprofen works like a charm. We're not all the same, and different kinds of pain respond better to different painkillers sometimes.

Don't overdo the Tylenol, seriously, though. Taking too much is rough on your liver and you NEED your liver.

Follow the directions on the bottle - they're put there by people who make a ton of money to find out just how many are safe to take. Taking more than that could not only exasperate the problem, but it might cause other problems as well. Just because it's an over the counter drug doesn't mean it's not dangerous if abused.

I've never had any luck with Tylenol and the like for a migraine. A cold wet towel to the forehead and then to bed to sleep it off.

i took 40, not enough, but i will give u an honest opinion, i have ruined my life by doing this, i was younger when i did this and the doctor said that i would not ever be able to take pain meds or anything like that cause i took a pretty bad hit! this is not the answer, trust me, nothing is ever so bad that u have to result to this, life is beautiful and u only get so many chances, please rethink before u make this kind of decision and if u need someone to talk to ask me, i listen well, i am a social worker!

It isn't cardiac you have to worry about, it's liver failure. Take ibuprophen instead. It may upset your stomach but you can use an anti-acid or milk for that. You can take up to 800mgs.of ibuprophen. Tylenol--two extra strength every four hours. And I'm really not kidding about your liver.

Get a baggie..put some ice in it, wrap it in a towel, lay down and put it on your head...right after you throw the Tylenol away and take 2 ibuprofen.
