in elevation by the time he is 3.25 mi horizontally away from the top of the
mountain. Find the slope of his descent to the nearest hundredth.

Slope= change in elevation/change in horizontal .
So elevation change=- 1800 feet.
Horizontal displacement=3.25 mi*5280ft/mile
You should be able to do the rest.

first you need to change the 3.25 miles to feet. then calculate rise over run
