When People say that you are not a true fan of a team example couple people here have called me a traitor of not being a true yankee fan and a closet fan , I hate it but at the same time the people who call me are usually not there when the yankees are doing bad makes me wonder . I could care less i love my yankees im a die hard fan in the good , the bad , and the ugly.

Yea i it. I guess being a yankees fan you get a lot of that. But I can relate, being a Tigers fan. Everyone thinks that I've only been one since 2006. That really does get on my nerves too.

If you think your a fan, then you are a fan and don't let anyone tell you different. Sure, they might call you fake because alot of people like the Yankees because they have alot of WS titles and have been VERY successful in the past years. But who cares?
My Rangers are in last place and have been there or third since the late 90's. Am I still supporting them? You betcha! I go to 10 + games a year!
I understand all yankee fans can't go to the game as much because they prices are VERY expensive. I just looked out of curiousity and tickets are a butt load of money.
I think the cheapest are bleachers and if I remember those are still about $15 a seat.
If you follow your team through the good, bad, ugly, etc. Your still a fan. Don't let anyone tell you other wise.

Yeah, it can be annoying. But at the same time the people that say that are trying to prove to themselves they are the fan to make you look bad. Don't worry, all the good people here know YOU ARE A TRUE AND REAL fan!
Speaking of fans I am one of your biggest!!!
Because you ask smart intelligent question and are NOT all cocky and arrogant. You realize your team has some flaws and address them in your questions looking for honest answers.
as much as I dislike the yankees I can respect anyone who is REAL AND TRUE fan.

im a die hard yankee fan other yankee fans shouldnt be givin u a hard time we got to stick together but anyway every yankee fan and im a yankee fan but its true we all hate to lose and when we go on losing streaks we lose faith very quickly same goes 4 fans of some other teams but were really bad like that doesnt mean were not true fans cuz we still come out and boo when we suck and cheer when we do well but in the end well always come out to see the yanks

I agree with you. I can't stand it when people think that I am not a true fan. I have been a Yankee fan since Don Mattingly was a Yankee, and before they won in 1996. They haven't won since 2000, but I will always be a fan.

Gene, here's what I think: there are two definitions of a fan, a fair weather fan and a true fan. Fair weather fans are only there for the team when the team's doing good, whereas a true fan is there no matter how good or bad the team is doing. But then, that's just my viewpoint.

I just like fans who admit the crappy aspects of their team as well as the great aspects. I mean just chanting Da Bears, with Yankees in the place of Bears, 24-7 is annoying.
By the by, DA BEARS! Brian Urlacher greatest player of our time! Walter Payton Greatest running back ever! Dick Butkus would pimp slap LT, Lawrence Taylor! Bears will win the Super Bowl!
(see, ain't that annoying?)
--Also since there are a lot of Yankees fans here and because it is fun to hate the Yankees, Yankees' fans get a lot of grief.

OMG i totally hate that!!!!!!! Some kids that absolutely HATE me at school said that to me. and the funny part was that when they said that i said so are you a true fan and they said yeah so i asked them what their teams usual line up is and they said do you think i know that??? and i said well i do so we went to the Vice Principal of my school (hes the only other yankee fan) and we looked it up and i was right so im sure those kids felt like the biggest jack@$$e$ in the world!!!!

Amen! I agree with you 100%. A true fan loves their team no matter what and supports them even when they do bad or seem to be blowing a lead..lol...I have the utmost respect for you and your love of your team. I have loved my team since 1975 and will love them no matter what. If respecting fans from the rival team is wrong, then I guess I am right there with ya!

though i dont like the yankees... you are totally right, you're the only who can say if you are a true fan or not just follow your team in goods and bads.
