For example, Is it too late for a sundress with an off-white ground but fall reddish and orange flowers? or one with pink flowers? something less summery perhaps? Could i wear one of those to the brunch on actual labor day monday?

wear a cute and simple dress, mabe a simple tank dress with a nice shirt under it? or a nice skirt, or look at nordstrom!

why is it too late for sundress? out here in california this weekend it is going to be 90 - 100 degrees out all weekend, so sundress is in order. I am attending a wedding saturday and am wearing either red strapless silk dress from banana republic or a dusty blue knee length jersey dress from classics entier from nordstroms.
I think the dress you describe would be fine. though if it is a night wedding, it may be too casual.
