I thought the two nations had a peace treaty, isn't this a bit silly?

Yes, There is peace treaty, but there is still public boycott to Israeli products, trade, and others.

The peace is accepted among the public, but the boycott was mainly becasue of the Israeli government activities against Palstenians and Lebanese. It is not against Israeli people.

You know if it was a different film and the Egyptian and Israeli were playing different rules I would not understand the union's decision. But don't you think that it is quite weired that out of the whole world an Israeli actor is the one who plays Saddam Hussain in the movie ??!!!!

I got to agree with Shalfat on this one, nothing against Israelis that are non- zionists but Why is an Israeli (its not the issue of him being muslim, jewish or christian or non) actor playing the Part of Sadam? It should have been an Arab, its been made this way only to stir up propergander about the documentary, i dont believe that the actor didnt know that it was an Israeli non arab playing the part. Its typical BBC they are a bunch of dogs, the recent drama Rome was terrible.

However i do understand the point of it being silly, its not one rule for all because then the amount of businesses that would be lost in both countries because many peoples businesses work across borders.

* Please people * not all Israelis are zionists

Well the syndicate of Actors is not a governmental entity, and it is free to set its own rules. It is not bound by the peace treaties signed on a governmental level.

Boycotting Israel and Israeli products is a popular trend, its no secret that people in Egypt do not like the policies of Israel in the ME. Our brothers in Palestine die every day and the least we could do is show solidarity by such symbolic moves.

And by the way this is not in Egypt alone... have you heared of the Academic Boycott by British academicians? Its becoming a sort of global trend. Educated people of the world and those with conscience who no longer fall for the brainwashing of the American and Israeli media are becoming more and more vocal in their opposition to the policies of the state of Israel.

If you really want people to normalize their relations with you I guess you should start by showing some respect to the will of the international community. You can not expect to earn the respect of any one as long as you continue your policies of arrogance, occupation and destruction.

The Actor is Amr Waked and he is a good actor. I think also he didn't know. Like always, it's some kind of a dirty game played on him. Just to watch his people cursing him.

Good game and for that kind of games it will be a crime to work with an Israeli actor who most probably pushed by the official government of Israel. This was the reason.

Since when : Since your government speaks about peace and work for wars.

I know how much your colleagues are active these days and waiting.

Egyptians are munafiqs, Israel gave them back the Sinai when it was Egypt who started the wars in the first place, yet they still cry like children
