To an extent, but no one gameplans in the preseason. Its just running plays based on down and distance. Also, they're not going to risk any of the big players by using them excessively. From the fans perspective we're learning stuff like McNabb looks ready to play, Manning is still really good, Brady and Stallworth look to be hitting it off...just the very basics. The offenses and defenses don't look a whole lot like they're going to look when the coaches start to gameplan based on an opponent rather than whatever particular they're trying to find out about their team.

Well, it depends on the team. Many teams let their star players sit out the entire pre-season. I am a die-hard charger fan and ladainian tomlinson hasn't played a single down in the pre-season. Obviously, the chargers will look a lot different with LT in play. The same applies to the other teams who are letting their star players sit. As for the teams who play their first-string all the way through the first half, yes. The first half is starters v. starters, and both sides of the ball are playing to their full potential. There's no reason why it's not a good evaluation of what the team will look like.

i personally think the 4th preseason is sorta boring, and useless...i mean if they werent very good in preactice and not worth showing in 3 games that should be it
