Check the following link for a realtime picture of all the satellites and large space debris currently in orbit.

You may need to enlarge the window to see all of it. You'll see a lot of satellites in a ring. These are the geosynchronous satellites.

define satelite...... anything that orbits is a satelite...... so that would include space junk, the moon, and man made satelites.

There are about 4000 man made satelites in outer space
