this is a lot of information and i'm sorry about that, just quit reading if you want. :)

anyway- i have had really bad diarrhea for the last 2 days and my doctor has me drinking lots of fluids and gatorade etc, so i have been doing that.
today i noticed bright red blood on my toilet tissue after wiping back there, but there is no blood in the stool. even when i haven't, you know, gone #2, there is still blood on the tissue from back there (i know it isn't coming from the vagina, it's from the back) it's been happening all day.
i don't hurt like i have hemmorhoids, just feel a little irritated down there, but could the irritation from the diarrhea cause the bleeding?
i don't know if it's normal or something that i should be worried about??

(i'm 32 weeks pg)

Do you feel any lumps around the anus? If not, it's probably internal hemorrhoids. Diarrhea can cause them too, not just constipation. Either way, any rectal bleeding needs to be mentioned to the OB.

Don't be embarassed, this is normal. Even if you are not in pain, you could have an internal hemmorhoid that could be irritated from using the bathroom more frequently than usual. I had this after I had my daughter, same situation as yours, and it lasted a few days and then stopped. Hemmorhoids are easily irritated, plus with the extra pressure, that can increase reactions. Since you are 32 weeks, this could happen more often the bigger your baby gets or when you deliver. If this is continuous then you should get concerned, but if your doctor knows and you are not bleeding more than what you have on your toilet paper, I would not worry too much. If it were a bowel problem, there would be blood in your stool and you would bleed A LOT. My fathers friend had a bowel obstruction and, not to get into to much detail, was pretty much 'pooping blood'. Just watch it and try not to eat anything that makes you have to go more frequently. Good Luck with this and the rest of your pregnancy!

Any previous straining, irritation from diahrea, or irritation from frequent wiping can cause some bleeding. You can have small lesions from all of the above. Also hemmorhoids are not always painful or bothersome. You may want to ask your doctor about it. They can prescribe some safe medication for it.

quite possible it is the diarrhea, because usually the hemmorhoids are casued by constipation....so there you go....just keep the area clean and it should heal up...(and you can most of the time feel the hemmorhoids, so you would know if you had them, probably. and they itch and are really uncomfortable) so if it is just irritated i am thinking it was caused by all of the diarrhea...hope that helps...tough topic to talk about.

You can have internal hemi's that are bleeding, and its only showing up when you wipe.

I had them soooo bad when I was pregnant. make a hole with some pillows, be enough for your belly, and then lay on them, so your on your front and not putting any pressure on your booty. I even used a bag of frozen peas to soothe that area... lol.

Preperation H is safe when pregnant.
