My in-laws treat me just fine. I have a very Greek father in law who is difficult to understand his English. I have 2 sisters in law, one who doesn't speak to the family anymore and the other who is completely antisocial, and my mother in law passed away just after almost a year of our marriage so for the most part, the in laws are no problem.

Agreed, however enemy may be too harsh a word.

Simply, my in-laws don't want to talk to me.
We live barely 5 minutes drive from them.
We have just passed through our 1st anniversary of marriage,
we have a 1 year old child...
... & still, they want nothing to do with me.
No, your not crazy.
However, some are insane.
Its an unresolved issue for me
so... what d'ya do?

I'm not married, but since they're a little bit traditional and I'm in all ways practical married to their son (cohabiting + true commitment), they call me their daughter in law. They treat me like a blessing because he's truly happy with me and his life has turned around for the better since he's been with me. I'd have to his parents treat me with a lot more respect than my parents treat either of us.

Hi...NOT necessarily true. I have a wonderful relationship with my in-laws, my mother-in-law is my best friend. It's how you go into it. You go into it with the stuff you wrote, then you have already lost. I think a lot has to do with how much I love their son. They know that I would move hell or high water for him. Good Luck!

They always ask me a lot of questions. They're not nosy, just inquisitive. They're very helpful and I have never felt like an outsider and really feel part of the family.

It's actually quite weird. Haha

His mom is a hippy, and his dad is like Johnny Cash.

My in-laws treat me nice to my face and talk smack about me behind my face. I'd rather have the lousy treatment than to be around a bunch of hypocrites.

My inlaws are very nice to me,but not to my sister in law,but she's a brat so I can see why they are cold to her. They come out and visit every year and we have a good time. I wouldn't trade my inlaws in for anything.
