What is the best answer:
When I bought a sofa from your store last Sunday, I WAS BEING TOLD it would be delivered tomorrow......

Does BEING TOLD sound ok or is it
WAS TOLD?

...I was told...

"I was being told" emphasises it as an on-going process, but you don't need that. You just want to let them know that they told you it would be delivered tomorrow.

"...was being..." would be valid in this sentence "I was being told about the sofa when I saw a friend walk in to the shop". It's valid there because it emphasises the timing of the events.

It should be :

"I was told it would be delivered tomorrow."
