I agree with those who say the 20th century began on January 1, 1901, and ended on December 31, 2000. Don't listen (or, at least, counsel) those who say it began in 1900--they are wrong. The first year was the year 1, NOT the year 0 (zero); so, it only makes logical sense that each new century begins with the year 1.
From an historical point of view, some say the 20th century began with World War I (in 1914) and ended with the Fall of the Berlin Wall (1989), making the 20th century a very short century, indeed...

To Answer your question the rightway the centuries work like this at the end of the year 99 the year 100 started the new century so in 1999 on December 31st at 11:59:59 time advanced to 12:00:00 am 2000 staring the new century and also the new millenium the 2000's which will last until 2999 when the clock strikes 12 am. The next century will start on January 1st, 2100 at 12:00 midnight because each midnight starts the new day.

1901 is the start of the 20th century. The calendar did not start with year zero. It started with one. Not too long ago, years 2000 and 2001 there was the same issue. The party for year 2000 was big, but then afterwards people realized the new millenium actually started in 2001, so they had another big party. Centuries are the same thing, it starts at one and goes to 100. Where a lot of the confusion comes from I think is people often refer to decades as the "sixties", or the "eighties". Because this is a reference to the numbers instead of the calendar decade it starts with 1960 instead of 1961.

RE:
When did the 20th Century start?
I know this sounds ridiculous, but exactly what year did the 20th century start & how does it work?
We are currently in the 21st century, but to this day I haven't got a clue as to why that is.
So... what year did the 20th century start?
THANK YOU!

the 20th century started in 1900. AMAZING. basically the calendar starts at 0 AD. being the 1st century, the beginning anyways. and 100 AD began the 2nd century. and it always kind of goes behind things. Every 100 years a new century begins. I hope that helps.
I know it seems confusing.

This is AWESOME research! I looked on my old CD and it is in fact not on the older ones. So, I doubt you intended any deception. I am amazed at how these frauds can make such misleading statements and false prophecies and not face the judgment of the false prophet. Thanks for sharing and I am adding this book to my list of things to get.
