December is awesome.

It's definitely the best time to go to LV if you're looking for great room rates and smaller crowds.

You can find 5 star hotels for $99, 4 star hotels for anywhere from $49-$69 and 3 star hotels are dirt cheap. >I could tell you what we have stayed for in the past few years but you wouldn't believe it :)

The best rates are from December the 9th up until the 28th - and you do have to do a little research and plan ahead to find the best bargains.

The weather can vary from a very nice sunny 70 degree day to cold, windy and 40.

Some hotel pools are well heated and open year round.

The crowds are smaller for almost everything. >Including the "hot" clubs.

If you like to gamble, it's much easier to get a room comp in December.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We always go to LV in December, we have from the 16th to the 1st reserved as of now, but when the freebie offers start to roll in we may decide to stay longer. >Our 14 night June trip turned into 31 nights(I have a hard time saying no to free stuff)

If you have any Q's feel free to e-mail me through YA

Hi Mellisa,
My son and his girlfriend (now his wife) visited Las Vegas in mid December for about 10 days a few years ago. They said it was truly wonderful. Las Vegas, which has so many lights anyway was decorated to the hilt for the holidays and was the most festive place to be. They were not big gamblers but enjoyed several shows and the room rates were very good - got a package deal with airfare through "Cheap Tickets" I think. They said that the buffets were awesome and they enjoyed the restaurants that they visited and said prices for food though not cheap were reasonable for what they received. They had a wonderful time and a big part of that was because it was holiday season and gave them more to enjoy. They came home engaged - been married six years now! I hope if you go then you will enjoy it as much as they did.
I also have a brother-in-law who lives in the suburb of Henderson and they rave about the weather and how nice it is during much of the year. He told me not long ago that it was 106 degrees that day. When I asked about the humidity it was 2%. Very, very dry heat is not as uncomfortable as the muggy heat where I live. Have a great time! Wish I was going then too!

I once heard that the only time you will see a Nevada license plate on Las Vegas Blvd is in December...and he is headed out of town.

December is actaully rather cool. It can be in the 70's during the day, but the tempurature can drop to the 40's in the evening.

December is an excellent time to head out to Vegas if you do not want to be around all of the crowds. Some of the attractions may close down, many outdoor pools close too (some stay open with abbriviated hours), and there are a lot fewer shows. However, if you are there to relax and save money, it is the best time to head out there. The weather is very nice, the best deals are offered then, and all of the best bars and restaurants will still be open (without a wait to be seated).

You have to remember that in December, people are more likely to visit with friends and family. They are spending their time shopping for gifts, and going to a bunch of Christmas (holiday) parties. They don't have time to travel. If you can make it out there, enjoy it.

Las Vegas is the absolute most interesting and engaging town on the planet and with hotelbye you may find out more. Nowhere otherwise on earth you will find a city that's all of the travel amenities that just a complete resort destination could possibly offer: lavish casino lodges, great dining, great stay leisure and state-of-the artwork tradition and deal display facilities. Las Vegas is definitely a magnificent town and exactly what you would assume from a world-class metropolis, and more, is the following for the journey pleasure. One of the places you have to visit in Las Vegas could be the Fremont Street, a pedestrian region with all sorts of special sites.

Very hot. It is a dry heat. You spend so much of your time indoors it don't matter. Late Spring or mid Fall is the best time to visit Las Vegas. Spend December in Florida.

The weather is supposed to be great in Vegas in december - not too hot, not too cold.

I was also just watching a show on vegas on the travel channel, and they said that to find the best deals on hotels, flights, shows, etc - to travel to Vegas in the beginning/middle of december, just before the holidays.

Have fun!!!
