I work and live in a facility that rescues big cat's. We also have our own domestic cats and dogs. The domestic cats KNOW they are prey. After feeding, when a big cat is full, it could care less about hunting. I have seen dogs, cat's and even a Great Blue Heron stick their heads though the feed hole to snatch the left overs!

Yes, the truly wild cats would kill the domestic cat. Don't know if it would eat it. Cat guts smell really bad. Some predators would not eat some animals that have really stinky guts. Of course if the predator was starving, it would eat kitty.

Yes. Larger cats in the wild will often kill smaller ones of another species. For example a lion will kill a leopard if it can catch it. It cuts down on the competition for food.

If the big cat wanted an hors d'oeuvre before dinner it would eat the cat. Otherwise it might just slap the heck out of the domestic cat for being in its vicinity.

An acquaintance of mine recently said that a wildlife biologist that worked in Northern California investigating mountain lion deaths said it was unusual to find dead mountain lions without the remains of domestic cats in their stomachs.

Yes.
A domestic cat would be easy prey for a large cat. Also, the large cat would show dominance by fighting the domestic cat.

Of course not! I walk my cat all the time, and while we have not seen any lions of course, here in new jersey, I have seen lots of other animals that just ran away from us.
Most animals are 'more afraid of you' than you are of them. You need to remind your cat of this so she feels comfortable around lions and tigers - though my guess is that she'll *never* see anything like that. depending on where you live, of course. your mileage may vary in africa or asia. duh!
