I've had an emotional day (again).
Finding housing is such an upstream fight that I'm not sure that I'll be one of the salmon lucky enough to make it to the "promised land" of housing before my light goes out forever.
Good news though:
I'm just one lb. shy of having lost 20lbs. in 3 months!
Bad news:
Stress is doing it to me. My back is now out of alignment due to the amount of weight I carry (in my backpack which is filled with only things I MUST have to survive out here).
I wish I knew what to do.
If you don't know what to do, and are the praying sort, please say one for me to find housing soon. Forget my health, that will come in time. I know it will. If I can just find housing I'll be okay.
"If".

Just for those of you who decided to be jerks . . .
I have gone to the social worker after trying to get housing on my own for two months (plus some). I have called over 30 different agencies. I did it even when I had a bout with tonsillitis and a colonoscopy.
So NONE of you has the right to tell me I'm not trying! PERIOD!
I am so sick of that. I AM trying. I've been trying for so long that just getting out of my bed in the morning is a chore. Let alone chucking myself uphill to get breakfast!
If you don't have something nice to say, please keep it to yourself. I am good enough at the negative talk to keep myself in no short supply for several lifetimes.
Thanks to all who have kind words.

First to the opening question, yes. Your father, which sounds like you are not too close to, would suffer. And then there is God. And second question toward the bottom, no, you are not alone, there are many of you out there that are lost at a point in time, and have no direction or guide towards a goal or purpose. As others suggested, talk to your Dad, and since you are going to a community college, they have trained staff that help you through this time. Get some help. And no, it is not just because you are "black". Us Irish, German, English, French, Arabic, etc kids have the same issues. Finding a place and purpose in life when the world around you is in chaos has been a problem for all generations. I don't know what type of spiritual life you have, but consider that as I said above, God does care about all humans. He put into place a means of healing us from the burden that Adam laid on all of us. Take a look at the site below and see if you can find something positive there to encourage you.

I am so sorry for what you are having to go through, but I'll pray for you right now. Keep the faith baby, and your house will come. Don't give up. Congrats on the weight loss, and as soon as you get into your new place, all that stress will leave you. God Bless.

Don't give in, housing will come and eventually the load your carrying (weight and stress) will lighten. Of course you would be missed, don't ever doubt that. If you think you won't be missed then find someone who you can help make a difference in and then you'll know that person would miss you. I wish you the best of luck!

You have my prayers! Congratulations on the weight loss, keep it up, I know it's not easy to do! Hope you find the housing you need. Try to do things to reduce the stress, long baths or something else that works for you. And yes, you would definitely be missed, I enjoy answering your questions!

1. Remax
2. Whoever said you need a house? Buy an apartment or condo if it's all you can afford. Hey, all you need is a place to eat and sleep.
3. Honestly, since I don't know who the hell you are, I wouldn't miss you that much.

Hang in there. You are not alone. I know others who are looking for homes and it just takes time to find the right one.
Take one day at a time and remember you are not alone. Most of us here care. Okay? Please keep me posted on how you are doing.

There are a lot of people who would miss you not just us.
Your family would miss you terribly. I often notice when
certain ones are missing on here for any length of time. I
then find they have been on holidays. I would miss you. x
