What do you think of the trades Kenny Williams made since 2005 and all of the releases. Do you like what he did?

Garbage.

This team is awful right now and shows no signs of improvement. Last night against the Rangers they struck out 13 times and only managed 5 hits in eleven innings.

The only good thing he did was trading away Freddy Garcia. He traded minor leaguer Chris Young to the Dbacks for Javier Vazquez. Young's tearing it up in Arizona while Vazquez has been his typical 6th-inning blowup self. He got Gio Gonzalez & Gavin Floyd from Philly for Garcia, both of whom are garbage. Danks has been OK as a #5. Even the Rowand-Thome trade was lopsided b/c Thome is getting old.

Williams wasn't as smart as everyone thought he was in 2005. A lot of players had great seasons and that wasn't necessarily Kenny's doing. This farm system is garbage, except for Josh Fields. Why Ryan Sweeney isn't playing and Andy Gonzalez is is beyond me.

I've been a White Sox fan for a long time, but the future looks very bleak.

Thome was a great trade, I'd rather have Thome than Rowand last year. Also Rowand is hitting well in the National League, the NL has less quality teams and your Batting average will inflate because of it. So Rowand, when he comes back to the White Sox next year, will drop in Average and every one will be calling Kenny Williams a moron for resigning him.

Also Chris Young has a .234 average in the NL, what would his average be in the AL, especially the Central which is packed with Aces? .200? .180?

The other trades were gambles, but to be honest, as long as he wins a WS every so often, I can care less if he depletes our minors. Minor league prospects are gambles anyways.

So basically, he has until 2010, if in 2011 the White Sox don't have another World Series or are in sight of one, it is time for a change in my book.

--He is going to need to make some big Free Agent moves this off season though. An outfielder or two, a SS, and pitching lots of pitching.

The trades after the World Series win were good ones, bringing Thome and Vazquez to Chicago, as well as getting Mackoviak, Gload, etc. Since then, his trades have pretty much sucked.

He's a 1 year wonder GM. He gets lucky one year then everything falls apart within the next 2 (2000, 2005).
