I am going to a new high school in september, and i am extremely nervous. I will be a sophomore and I am an extremely shy person, naturally making it hard for me to make friends, so i need help, please???
SO, MY REAL QUESTION IS DO YOU THINK THAT IT WOULD BE AWKWARD IF I FRIENDED PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK THAT GO TO MY NEW SCHOOL (I JOINED THE SCHOOL'S NETWORK) JUST SO I COULD TALK TO THEM BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS????

i think a good option would be to see if your new high school has any groups. (my high school has one call 'name of the school ROCKS'). Once you find a group, you can leave a message on the wall or message boards saying that you are new and looking forward to meeting people. That way people that are interested in making friends will be contacting you.

I wouldn't just start adding random people right away. It would be better to meet people in person first. However you could look to see if the school has a facebook group and you could join and then add a discussion saying that you are new. That way you could make a few friends before school starts.

A lot of people do that when they go off to college -- I did. Just be aware that some people like to add everyone who requests them just to boost their friends count and make them look more popular, so even if someone accepts your request it doesn't guarantee that they'll talk to you. But it's worth a shot.

nah. Usually, if you request for a friend, they will accept. But ... you should make friends in your new school with people in person before just randomly friending them in facebook.

My advice to you is that wait until you start school, make some new friends, hangiout with them and then you can add them..shows that you're actually friends with them.
