A good friend of mine has just had her best friend admit that she is in love with her. She already has a boyfriend and isn't interested in being with girls. And even though she still wants to be good friends with her, it is now really odd for my friend to hang out with her. She doesn't know how to react or what and if she can do anything about. She wouldn't ask the question so I'm asking it for her. Does anyone have an idea of what she should do?

This is coming from a guy who told another male that he loved him (but not in a sexual way). My daughter also lives with a gay male who I hug and kiss every time I see him. I am straight

Thank the girl for her admission. It takes a lot of guts to make the statement. She can also tell her that she values their friendship and the declaration and wants to maintain it but that she is heterosexual. She better mean that and she should try to stay friends. Good luck,

it's gonna be hard, you friend need to consider if she still wants keep the friendship. If so then she has to try her best to just be friends and keep the personal distance. It will be odd and difficult, but if it pulls through then she has for sure a friend for life!!
Otherwise suggest that she squares this issue with the other girl and be truthful about it that its either they be good girl friends or then its not possible to be hanging out together.

be honest there is nothing wrong in telling the truth. i know it is hard because it might destroy the friendship that you have but that is the only thing that you can do to have a peace of mind right... just tell everything you want to say but be careful with your words it might hurt them, be good and be gentle so that she'll understand and know that you also do care!

Tell her to find another friend. Her friend obviously doesn't respect the fact that she is a heterosexual, and has shown incredible selfishness in putting her in this situation without any consideration for her feelings.

I love my girlfriends, but nothing more than getting involved or anything such abominable. Have you friend misunderstood her friend? Maybe she loves her as a great friend and wanting the best for each other and looking out for each other.

She should just tell her friend the truth and be honest with her! Just let your best friend tell her friend that shes not intrested in girls or on her!! That she'll rather stay as friends!

its not your friends fault in anything so far. she needs to plainly state what she likes and dislikes including that she has a bf and wants him more than everyone.

she just has to break the bad news, its the truth and her friend needs to know that. she cannot just avoid her

Be open and honest about what she thinks and how she feels about the situation. Any true friend will understand.
