1) Democracy. The idea that citizens vote to elect their leaders. This concept comes hand in hand with strong individual rights.
2) Republicanism. The idea that the citizens elect a few representatives to make laws and policy that reflect the citizens' values.
America is unique in that these principles are united in a separation of powers between the judiciary, legislature, and executive.

The American form of government is a Representative Republic with limited forms of democratic voting for representatives.

The government exists at the grace of the people through their States.

The government exists to protect the people’s rights which are derived through evolution of Common Law.
