How many housing forclosures would be avoided if Americans had that much more money in their pockets? Ron Paul just plain makes sense.

The amazing thing about the responses to this question is that so many people think our governments sole income is personal income tax!! It shows conclusively a failure of education. When theres a 52 cent a gallon levy on imported ethanol from Brazil where does that money go? Thats just the last thing that I read.

It's a seemed article of faith that no taxes at all makes America a better place. What simplistic nonsense.

The IRS is just an arm of the government (The US Treasury) that enforces the laws created by our legislators. They are doing nothing illegal by enforcing their charter.

Now, if you want to really get technical, and you want to get rid of all of the "welfare" we pay in this country, I can think of no better place to start than corporate welfare, which encompasses an equal if not greater amount of our GNP than what we pay out to the less fortunate (and, let's be honest, layabouts) of this country.

Housing foreclosures happen for a lot of reasons, and most of them have nothing to do with your taxation level, which on the whole is lower than any industrialized Western nation.

No, privatizing everything is a silly notion, and it's the main reason why I will never vote Republican. So long as the silly and completely distorted notion about "tax and spend liberals" remains, my votes go to the Democrat every time.

A flat tax would make things very simple, wouldn't it? Yes. It would make things more fair, wouldn't it? No. And to be quite honest, the loss of 20% of your income to a family making only $20,000 a year is an extreme hardship in comparison to those making $200,000 a year.

But that's people like Ron Paul for you. Nah, he only makes sense in that the Drug War should have been stopped ages ago. Even Reagan said that legislating morality was bunk (but he was talking about motorcycle helmet laws being unjust, not drugs). Everything else he believes in is a standard right-wing playbook, and I'm not buying it, nor will I ever.

then what no one has to pay taxes ever again, cuz if we want a civilized country we need taxes. Or do you plan to have us still pay taxes, just get rid of the IRS? Well someone will still have to write a check to pay the tax and of course folks will try to cheat on that just like they do now and some one will have to go out to kick them in the ***. I hope for a more lucid question once yer leettle village starts to receive newspapers, and maybe some day even books.

If Ron Paul says he wants to get rid of the IRS, then he has made sure he will never be the president. Next he'll say he wants the US to print it's own money.

NO! Our taxes pay for everything! They pay for our military, for our police, firefighters, teachers, schools, maintenance of roads, bridges, the infrastructure of America and so much MORE. Republicans want to "starve the beast" by constantly cutting taxes and spending like crazy. Why? Because then they can deregulate and privatize EVERYTHING! And why do Republicans want fewer regulations? For the same reason criminals want fewer cops; it's easier to get away with murder! Why are Republicans so unwilling to turn things over to the government, but so very WILLING to turn everything over to CORPORATIONS? If we close our public schools and allow our kids to go to private schools we are ensuring history will be rewritten and those schools will teach our kids whatever they want. Or they won't teach them at all. Capitalism demands having an abundant supply of labor. What better way to provide them with that supply than to ensure the failure of our public schools.

Look into something called the "fair tax." It's a marvelous idea, and would solve a lot of problems caused by the current tax system.

Well in my opinion. All of the worthless IRS employees would be taking the jobs from our children at walmart, Wendy's,publix and just about every other menial task. I'm not sure we are ready for that
