It's her money. She can do what she wants with it

Well obviously that person deserved to have a pet. A pet should be like one of the family. Sometimes people don't have family and their pet was their only friend in the world. Also sometimes people send their pets to live in special shelters where they can live there for life after their owner dies. These shelters run on donations. I have seen one and the pets have beds and lounges and are well looked after. These money goes towards their food and medical care for the rest of the pets life. It shouldn't be illegal as if there is no one to look after the pet it will be sent to the pound and if not adopted within a week at the most it will be put down. People should be allowed to do what they like with their money after they die. They can do what they like with it when they are alive. How much do you think Paris Hilton spends on her dog? I think the carry bag is thousands of dollars on its own!

My first instinct was to say yes but then I realized that there's no legal reason why this should be prohibited because one could easily argue that the money could be used to support the dog. I suppose the dog should be appointed a guardian ad litem though so then someone could make decisions on the pets part regarding how the money could be spent. For instance, vet bills, accessories, pet care like dog walking, pet sitting, food, toys and everything else.

I think there should be a law that if you have children unless they are known drug addicts or a felon of some type they should have to leave some money to the kids. Of course they should be able to leave some to the pets but people should come first

It shouldn't be illegal, but I know they're alot of charities and other people that could benefit from it. If she wanted to leave some to her pets, then that's fine, but leave some to someone that never had or doesn't have a chance!

some one has to look after them after you die so why not leave money set up for them to make sure it happens. We all make sure our kids are looked after why do some people forget about their pets? Its not cheap to have pets so its only fair that money is left so they are well looked after!

12M....ummm that is a bit much. But to make it illegal...i think not. We own two boxers that are a handful to take care of and feed. we have left aside some money that if something should happen to us, my family isn't left with a financial burden of taking care of them. i would hate for them not to have the money to take care of them and having to give them up. our boxers are our babies.

I'm leaving all my money to my pets when I die ...that way, I know they will be taken care of.....I never had children so they are my babies.

It's not illegal to be an idiot, so why not? She didn't like people much, that's for sure. She didn't get the name "The Queen of Mean" for nothing. Actually its kind of sad that she was so messed up that that's all she felt she could do.

Nope. People who are very attached to their pets often want to be sure they're cared for, and if they have no one else to leave money to...Well, it works out.

No it should not! It may be rather silly to do so but if it's your money your should have the right to leave it however you choose. There's enough government interference in our lives already.
