Liberal Arts contains less math and science requirements. It is more humanistic and society focused. Examples are psychology, history, sociology, geography, and art. Liberal Arts provide a great education but lags behind the science and technical degrees in salary and wages.

The definition has changed somewhat over time, but generally it means academic disciplines, such as languages, literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, and science, that provide information of general cultural concern rather than of a practical or career oriented or utilitarian concern.
