What is the opinion on that...is it something just the freshman do? I'm a freshman, and although I have some time to buy a new jacket, I was just wondering what college students generally thought about that. I have the darn thing...might as well use it.

When I was in college....people did it. It showed where you came from and what sport you played. you know....it told a bit about you.

Put your jacket away. You do not want to "that guy" on campus hanging on to your high school. Get a good jacket and wear that, put away your letterman jacket and stay in shape and wear it to your 20th High School reunion. Or save it for your kid when it will be cool and retro.

I think it is practical. One of my teachers (who had just recently graduated himself from college) always poked fun at it though because only the freshman wore their letterman jackets in college : )

I wore my high school jacket during my freshman year of college. A lot of freshmen did.
Limit it to your freshman year though.

I think that it could be good or bad. Either you could put people off by seeming young or looking like you are still attached to your high school. Or it would be kind of like a banner for people that you knew in high school, and maybe make it easier to have a kind of a support system.

yeahh i got my jacket freshman year and never wore it, but i tend to wear it when i get to college. i spent like $300 for it, so i tend to use it. i just wouldn't wear it in high school because i feel show-offy and it goes down to my knees hahaha

I am going to buy my varsity letter jacket this summer I just graduated from high school but I did not get my varsity letter in chorus until the end of my senior year so I am going to wear it this winter.and next winter too.
