I am trying to relocate and am wondering if anyone knows of any cities that have short waiting lists for Section 8? I know of one in Texas that the waiting list is only 4-6 weeks but I was wondering if anyone knew of any others. Thanks

Rogers and Bentonville AR
waiting list is about 4-8 weeks.
but then, next to Walmart central base, good jobs and good pay too.

The list can be as short as 12 months in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a voucher. It's shorter (6-12 months) if you are willing to live in a "project" owned by a private company (mod rehab). Charleston, West Virginia's list is also about 12 months long.

Have you asked your local Housing Authority (or whichever government agency handles the Section 8 in your area)? Perhaps one of the employees there will know.

yeah its called making more money so you get on a better line- the line of choice. too many people looking for section 8's. I advise you guys to get a better job or get a better education. section 8 housing is tiny and dirty. another thing I like to add is crime around the area is quite higher than nicer places.

You're willing to move to where ever you chances at public assistance are better? There's something wrong with this picture!!

How can you afford to move? And what makes you think you'll be eligible in a new location?
