Totally depends on the choices he/she makes

My dad, who is a carpenter, has told me a lot of stories that he's heard from people working with him. One of these stories is of a guy who used to pick fights and be mean to people, but at the time my dad knew him he was the nicest person imaginable; evidently he made a change.

I would say that certainly, troublesome people can, although they could also not, grow up to be wise if they choose to learn from their mistakes and not make them bigger.

In fact, if they do learn from their mistakes, they will probably learn better than people who never faced those problems. Learning from something works better than learning from nothing, in other words, not learning at all.

The way to help these people overcome problems is to sympathize with them, if not their motives, be nice to them no matter how they act, and be honest with them. It's pretty hard for all concerned.

so yes, the saying that you quoted does certainly make sense, i would say.

Some do but some don't after reflecting them self in the mirror on how much they hurt peoples feeling they start realizing that it was wrong choice in the past and now they try to be nicest persons on earth.
