A bit of carpet shampoo, and scrub with a brush, the dab up the excess moisture.

depends on the stain. Spot Shot does a pretty good job with unidentified and old stains, imo.

To be honest, it really depends on the stain. There's a huge difference between a candle wax stain and a kool-aid stain. Could you be more specific please?

try putting shaving cream on the area leave it for a few minutes then scrub with a bristle brush
