One might ask the same about Bill Clinton, and with more reason.

Wow, some of the answers to this question are out there...
2000: Bush 271 / Gore 266
2004: Bush 286 / Kerry 252
Maybe your real question should have been:
How did GWB become president if when I don't like him and he stole, in my opinion, the 2000 election and probably 2004.

Very Easy.
The democrats are all morons.
Over 60 million voted for Bush as opposed to the 57 mill that voted for Kerry.

"he never convincingly won any election?"
what is that supposed to mean? He got the most votes (electoral votes the first time and both electoral and popular votes the second time). What do you mean by "convincingly?"

Easy. He DIDN'T WIN the popular vote. He won by Electorial Votes, and the states he won were Florida, Texas, Ohio, and I believe California.
The Electorial College is a dinosaur. This was used when the Constitution was created because states sent a few people to Philadelphia, and later Washington, D.C., to tell the candidates running for President their state voted for a person. It isn't needed anymore.
Bush won in 2004 the same way. He didn't win the popular vote, but won the Electorial Votes. Now we are paying for it...
...and to the guy who stated it was the same for Clinton...you need to go back and read history dude, cause again you're wrong. Clinton won BOTH the popular and Electorial Votes in BOTH elections. Clinton was popular, YOUR CURRENT PRESIDENT ISN'T...deal...

They voted for Bush because they loved Al Gore more.
That, and that pansy-wanzy way of throwing a football while ADVERTISING his FAMILY VALUES on national TV 30 times a day during his campaign.

Because:
(1) 50% of all adults have below-average intelligence.
(2) While it is true that not all conservatives are stupid, it is still true that all stupid people are conservative.
(3) Every citizen gets 1 full vote, even when his/her brains are only half full.
(4) Most voters with enough brains don't have enough facts.
Proof: Most of the pro-Bush voter in 2004 actually believed the unbelievable: that Sadaam Hussein planned the 9/11 attack and that we found WMDs in Iraq!

Good Question. You see,our votes were not real and all the elections were rigged according to the Liberals. Poor ole Gore and Kerry should have won by a landslide. They call Bush stupid and then say he rigged all the voting machines and electoral voting.lol

Same reason Hitler won an election back in the 1930s--the public are sheep and are easily manipulated. By the way, Nixon was elected and re-elected, too.

don't fool yourself. Many like him. Especially those very high in the hierchy. But they do mostly because he is easily fooled and led. He is also quite vulnerable. Bush is not a decision-maker ON HIS OWN. Those more powerful than he make the decisions and then dictate to Bush what to say and how to say it.
bush became president because those REALLY in charge saw to it that he did.

Gore ran a lousy campaign and the supreme court appoint Bush in Florida.
2nd time. The swift boat vets for lies and deceit aided and abetted the Bush/Diebold win in 2004.
