Something beamy and chock full of creature comforts like a big shady Bimini and plenty of dehumidifiers. Cal 27 or 29 for 1-2 persons, Erichson or Hunter in the 40-50 foot class, with a plush aft cabin for family sized 'groups'.
With very few exceptions, the bigger, the better.

A WELL and PROPERLY equipped boat !! One you can afford !!
I've lived aboard a Cal 27, a Mariner 36, and a 35' Trawler... all had their plusses and negatives.
The Cal 27 was my FAVORITE, because it was always ready to GO... the Mariner 36 for it's galley and room... the Trawler because I could have a full-sized TV.

For living - houseboat, but you can save your money by buying pontoon boat which is cheaper and upgrade it to houseboat later.
In case of houseboats - Gibson manufacturer is a good one.
