Is it ok for me to have a candy bar for dessert when people are starving? It's great to strive for perfection, but nobody is going to achieve it.

Is it OK for people to have computers and the internet when people are starving? Or anything else material for that matter? One has nothing to do with the other. It's like saying you shouldn't have children, because people are starving. My pets are my family. I can still do a lot to help people in the world.

They are separate issues. Keeping pets has nothing to do with people starving. You can have pets and still help other humans. Also, we have to remember that animals do not make choices about reproducing. Humans, however, have chosen to reproduce even though we know there are too many of us on the planet.

Yes...after you've been through what I- and I'm sure over half the country- have experienced with people, animals are really all you want to deal with, and because they are a precious priviledge with no voice of thier own people like me stick up for them.

Yes. So now we have to let people and animals die? At least we can help some animals. It is not like we won't get a cat but we will adopt a child!

Yes it is. You can help others by donating to charity. Pets have always had a place in our lives and they always will.

i think it's fine, I don't see why it wouldn't be OK. It isn't going to affect anything is it.
