If you do decide to do this, make sure you put the bleach in the water and it's thoroughly mixed, and all dripped bleach is wiped off anywhere on or in the washer. That will help prevent the blotchiness. Also, do a little at a time (maybe half a cup of bleach in each successive wash until you get the color right). Otherwise you might burn the fabric (it will wear out and get holes faster) or it will be too light of a color than you thought you were going to get.

Or, just stay with the dark indigo jeans and go buy some pre-bleached ones that you like.

Dilute some bleach and sponge apply them in the normal wear spots of your jeans(normally the knees, fronts, & back pockets) Heavy bleach will make them weak and tear easily. Test in a smal pot on the inside of your jeans in a spot not seen by others.

I had a pair of black jeans that I was bored with, so I took some left over hair bleach (I had just used it on my hair, it wasn't sitting around or anything) and I got one of my friends and we each decorated a leg. I know it sounds a little silly, but it was lots of fun, and I still have them.
