My son got surgery on his eye back in February, and we have anthem. He was required to have anaesthsia, and according to all the estimations of benefits I was only suppose to pay 317.00 and some change. Well, the company keeps billing me like 184.00 that was responsible for the anaesthsia and my insurance keeps informing me that I have paid what I was suppose to pay. The insurance company wrote a letter and sent it to the doctor, and even sent me a copy. Then they sent me a current status on the claim showing that I know nothing. But I keep getting a bill. What do I need to do, I have done what I am suppose to and they were suppose to write off a certain amount and haven't. In fact according to the amount they were suppose to write off I overpaid on the first bill but that was considered a copay. Should I just go there with both letters and refuse to leave unless it is fixed. Any suggestions, I have done my part and shouldn't be expected to go above and beyond by owing them.

Talk directly to the anaesthsia's biller, if they cannot take care of it right away tell them your next call is to your states division of insurance. (check your blue pages). They are there to make sure all medical pratices and insurance are following policy correctly. If you dont have it in writing it will be hard to fight but keep fighting. They hope you give up so dont let them win. Watch all your statements and transactions with medical and insurance. GET NAMES and document. There favorite saying is "quotes are not a gaurnteement of payment."

Get off your @zz, take all your paperwork to the the anesthesia company, IN PERSON and argue it with them. If you don't it will end up as a bad debt on your credit. DON'T phone, go in person !
