I would assume he is a true rapper and the best one I've ever heard. His lyrics actually had meaning and applied to the lives of many so I would count him as an actual rapper.

Tupac was a rapper. He also a poet and hip hop artist.
Rap is music that focuses on catchy, repetitive choruses, or "hooks" and equally addictive beats which Tupac had.
hip-hop is music ,focused less on beats more on lyrical content which addresses social issues.
Hip-hop is a culture comprised of more than just music, but art, dance, style of dress, language and many other elements.

He was a pretty hardcore rapper but towards the end of his career most of his stuff was just like hip hop. He still went hardcore sometimes, but i think he started to see true values in life so his music got a lil' more positive.

tupac was a rapper, he rapped about a life of a gangsta, and people who grew up in the hood.
today, people use his lyrics to make hip hop songs, but he is dead, and it mostly because his family and other people want to make money off his talent. because he is so well known, and is a legend to a lot of people.

he is a rapper. Way better then T.I you can not compare him to those hip hop artist. He is to good to become one of them.

greatest rapper/poet of all time he said what many people were thinking in the hood and kept it real showed his anger and his softer side there will never never be another that will come close to him and half of these rappers would not even be here if he was still here like jay-z, big tymers, and manymore
