I'm so worried about my sister because 2 years ago she had an Ectopic pregnancy and had to have a tube removed.

She has now got pregnant again and so far it is too soon for the doctors to tell if its Ectopic, they'll do another scan in 10 days, but i'm soo worried that something bad will happen between now and then i am so nervous and having bad sleeps i dont want anything bad to happen to her. Do you know how many weeks ectopic pregnancies are likely to occur?? she is currently at five weeks

Well, this is certainly not based on any medical training but if the "bad" tube was removed it means this egg came from the good side. I think that should give you a little less to worry about. I have asked about ectopic pregnancy before and many women have had good pregnancies afterward. Just pray for the best. I am sure the doctors are keeping a very close eye on her due to her previous condition... good luck to her!!

Etopic pregnancies develop by the embryo implanting in a wrong spot and implantation occurs in the first week of life for the embryo. With her being at 5 weeks they should have no problems finding the baby at the next scan and also seeing a heartbeat at that point since the heart starts beating between 5 and 6 weeks. It is not common at all for a women to have repeat ectopic pregnancies as long as the reason for the first one has been addressed. Sounds like she had it taken care of and she should be okay this time around. Try not to stress since she's going through so much more right now and needs your support. Try to stay strong for her as well as for yourself.

Take a deep breath and relax. I have one sister, a friend and one co-worker that all had 1 ectopic and then 1-3 successful pregnancies each. It isn't very likely, it is possible but not likely.

Call her every day, go with her to the doctor for support if she would like you to but all you can really do right now is just pray for her.

Good luck!

The fact that she is being checked closely is good as they won't get to the point of a life threatening situation. She is likely more concerned about losing another pregnancy than the fact that it might be ectopic. Give her some support!

She is aware that this happens to her and that it is possible that it can happen again....the doctors are also aware, so i wouldn't worry about it, they are going to keep a close eye on her until she is in the clear.

If they are, they start out that way, but the doctors just can't tell for certain yet.
