Depends on what time/era your a talking about. Both Izod and LaCoste used the crocodile emblem on their wear until around 1993. That's b/c Izod and Lacoste had a business partnership under which Izod licensed the LaCoste brand (aka Izod Lacoste). Older generations will remember Izod as the crocodile-bearing clothier. In 1993, the license expired and Lacoste therefore regained exclusive rights to their own merchandise. Hence, Izod no longer has the crocodile emblem. So, in short, a shirt with a crocodile emblem in the "new" stores today would be Lacoste.

In early 50s, Izod and Lacoste teamed up to produce clothing in the US. They had a falling out, however, and since 1993, the Lacoste alligator stands alone again.
