was he awarded,to keep quiet or to pick his brain?

What in fact happened is this.
All Phone providers phones are set up so they are fixed internally so they only work for there service.
So your 17 year old in collaboration with 3 others 2 were Russian fiqured out how to HACK that particular phone to be used with any Provider.

he made it so that the Iphone owner could use services other than AT&T. You werent supposed to be able to do that. Its a geek thing.
