I have to write an ironic story!! Please help with idea of story, what to write about, etc.

To make it modern, how about a story about a young couple who are separated when he enlists in the Army to fight in Iraq so that his fiance will be proud of him? He is gone for months and finally is so severely wounded that he is put on a plane to go home with the only good news being that at least he will get a chance to be with his beloved again. In the meantime she has been thinking about how brave and patriotic he is and she decides to enlist in the military herself.And of course she ends up leaving for her tour of duty while he is on his way home.

Make it about,
a lady who was very stressed, (make her problems up), so she went to theropy and they gave her stress releaving candels and shes supposed to sit there and medatate or somthing while staring at them, but she accidently knocks them over so her house burns down, and it causes her more stress.
Its ironic because she was supposed to use the candels for less stress, but the candels actually caused her more stress.
