Most of us have cars, and when they break down, it affects our ability to seek employment, shop for food, or make a bigger carbon footprint.

What do you think about socialized automotive care?

Are there any other services you want the government to supply, while we are here?

99% of my days, I depend on my car for my survival more than I depend on my health care...just a thought ;)

Public transportaion is availoable almost everywhere.....people own cars by choice, not out of necessity. If you want socialized automotive care, how about government supplied Big Macs, after all we need to be fed so we can stay alive long enough to get sick.

Transportation is socialized. Have you ever heard of a bus or a train or street car? They are public transportation and government run. We do have socialized transportation. With it you don't really need a car. So if your care breaks down take the bus.

Health care is a basic need, the ability to drive an automobile isn't. Your comparison is specious and ridiculous--look up the meaning of that last word, by the way, it originially meant "to be laughed at."

Well, it makes as much sense as so called Universal Health Care. I no more want to pay to have your tire fixed than I want to pay to have someone go to the doctor for a hangnail. It should all be private enterprise.

You sir are a good example of looking for issues others have not thought about.

I like this idea knowing how important in American society it is to own a car (most of the time if you do not own a car, you cannot get a job easy.) yet disagree with the possibility how a tax hike would be the result of this program.

very funny. comparing health issues to a car (which is a "want", not a "need"). people can live without cars, thats why cities provide PUBLIC transportation. Dont be a smart a**.

No, buses, taxes, etc can also drive you to your medical appointments.
