You're growing up ... just 'go with the flow' and see if you can't find out what you LOVE to do, and what you 'must do' to survive ... that's all any of us can really do. You are correct ... 'control' is an illusion. You can 'take control' of some parts of your life, but never have 'control' over everything ... and if you get 'run over by a bus' tomorrow, that is NOT something you can 'control' ... so just learn to 'go with the flow' but always try to 'do your best' and BE HAPPY. I did, and I got a 'wonderful reward' after everything seemed to have 'gone wrong' for me ... and I'll pray for your life to be as good as mine is now.

I don't know how old you are, but you will find more and more that "life does not always follow the rules. You never know what tommorrow may bring, and the human mind changes abruptly when circumstances change. Figuring out your whole life is like attempting to forecast the weather on a long term basis. There are entirely too many variables... Good luck.

You have to know the things you can control, and put yourself in a position where the things you can't control won't completely disrupt your life when they happen. Part of not controlling life is kind of where all the stuff happens, both good and bad. You can't control people dying, but you also can't control meeting the girl or guy of your dreams, so if you loosen your grip on life, it makes it easier, accepting your lack of control is probably the most important thing.

Life is not about controlling it. You need to be flexible and be able to change direction as necessary. Flow with the punches so to say. I have found that life can be very enjoyable if you learn to live in the moment. It is always good to have a plan and look forward, but don't fixate on the future, or what you can't change. Plans can and are changed on a regular basis. Being able to accept life as it comes and making adjustments as you need to is what it is all about.

I personally find it easier to take on life one day at a time. It is helpful to have a plan, but if you have more of a general idea rather than a very detailed plan, you won't be as disappointed when your set plans fall through. Just take every day as it comes and you'll learn life doesn't have to be so difficult! :)
