I'm an 18 year old male. I'm usually always home and feel so embarassed about it. Sometimes I feel like going out, but most of the time I don't. I think I may have clinical depression, but I'm not sure. I've been an introvert all my life, but living in the middle of nowhere has gotten me used to being alone. Don't tell me to join any groups or anything cuz I won't. I should get a job, but I have applied to over 5 places like a month ago and haven't heard from them since.

Antisocial personality disorder is quite different than what you are describing, actually. You may have a social disorder, such as mild social phobia. I can relate to this, and I have absolutely no advice to give you, since I'm just as stuck having to cope with social phobic tendencies with little to no solution as well. And it is also possible that you have clinical depression, as this it a typical result of a fear of being negatively judged by others or of speaking with others.
However, if you just need someone to talk to, someone with whom you can relate, and maybe we can discuss different things we've tried to overcome our introversion. Drop me a line if I can help; the annoynimity of the internet is a great tool for discussion with other people who can't judge you because they have no clue who you are!

I guess I am, for the most part, anti-social also. I do know one thing about jobs, you must compete with other people to get a job. So putting in applications is not the only step you need to get a job.
Call the place back a few days later and ask if they had a chance to review your application. Ask if the position is still open and if you can set-up an interview.
Being anti-social doesn't mean you should be unemployed. Working and private life should be two separate affairs. Get some help with your depression!

Welcome to the Club! -I'm glad not to know you! :) Listen; there's probably NOTHING wrong with you- & there's DEFFINATELY nothing wrong with being an Introvert. You're quiet & shy- & you preffer your OWN company most of the time. There's nothing wrong with THAT. On the chance that you MIGHT be depressed, check out the local Colleges or Churches Counceling Center- & see what THEY have to say about it. If you decide they're "full of it"- then you're FINE & they ARE! :) Don't give up on the "job" thing; keep after the places you've applied to- & add on some others. You'll get one- sooner or later. Don't worry. So hang in there, feel GOOD about who you ARE- & Good Luck! :)

See if you are worrying about it so much that means you are not crazy yet. So go out have a few beers and this will help you shake off your self called antisocial behavior. But dont become a depress alcoholic now, I said just a few beers.
The way it sounds its like if you live on top of a mountain or something. Go climb off that mountaing and find a girlfriend and get laid. Thats right, thats what you need buddy; to get a girlfriend and get laid. Good Luck my friend !.....

Have you called any of the places where you applied. If you don't show some interest, then employers don't either. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call, and you may get the job (or at least an interview)

you may be depressed if most of the time you feel down but apathetic and don't care about anything- if that's the case, you could get anti-depressants if you want to start living your life (or at least feeling like you want to). however, if you're content with not spending time with people, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Just be yourself. If you're around people more often, you will eventually start to feel more comfortable. I have been called anti social. I feel extremely uncomfortable around people and just want to go away and hide, until I realized that's a horrible way to live. So, my advice to you is to just be around more people. Go to groups or classes- take small steps. Good luck and don't be down on yourself. <3
