My husband's father had two brothers and his mom had two sisters. They both had one boy(my hubby) and one girl. Do you think guys get their sperm gene from their father or mother or it doesn't matter at all and there will always be a chance for either a boy or girl? Have you had the same sex child or one or more of each?

what difference does his family make?
It's his sperm and then depending on your cycle and how far the egg has travelled, if girl or boy sperm get there first(proven medical studies that girl sperm can swim longer and boy sperm need to fertilise an egg quicker as they don't have as much stamina, hence getting a boy if you conceive right on ovulation!).
My husbands father had one boy and two girls and we have 2 boys and 5 weeks away from third baby.(we concieved right on ovulation as we were trying)

I don't know if it's been actually proved but there does seem to be a tendency for children to be a certain sex in some families. I've known families where there are a lot of males and those that have a lot of females. In my case, I came from a family that only had girls and my husband has a lot of female relatives. We have two daughters and no sons.

The odds are always 50-50 however there are lots of probability charts talking about what you are. But the chance is always 50-50.
