ok im not sure if its a martyr complex but i feel i have to make others laugh and feel good to make me feel good... like i could be having the worst day and if i make some 1 else happy im happy

Same here. Like, when I am over at someones house I feel like everyone is really tense and I just HAVE to make them laugh. I usually can, and then I feel o.k. Its kind of weird and I have been thinking about it for a while. If someone in my family or someone I care about is feeling depressed, then I feel depressed unless I can make them feel better. I don't know what it is but I want to find out.

It depends. The motivation you have for pleasing others plays a big role in determining whether you are a matryr or a compulsive pleaser. See the following link to read more!

If you feel ***COMPELLED*** (i.e., forced) to do ***ANY***thing that makes you feel good, then you aren't really doing it for "pleasure", per se. As such, some folks would consider you a "sycophant" or "gladhand" or "stand-up comedian". ;)
If you do such without any ulterior motive (consciously or not), then you would be considered an "altruist".
Regardless, this world needs more folks like this, so, by all means, make others feel good as often as you want!
