I think its sad that parents put a leash on a child. What ever happened to holding their hand or putting them in a stroller? Leashes are for dogs.. enough said.

If that was the case, that would mean that the mother is too fat and lazy to run after their kids. If that mother realized that running after them would make her a little more fit, than that would be great.
But, really a lease? You can't discipline your child that much that you decided to just put a lease on them, like a dog? You F-ucking fat *****, take the lease off and run after them! What happen if you end up dragging your child and it gets wrapped around their necks, huh? Because you were too fat and f-ucking lazy to hold them by their hands. Because your hands were probably trying to hold a hamburger or a hot dog or fries-or both-while trying to maintain a 30 something ounce DIET soda (as if 50,000 calories would be magically erased from drinking that diet soda) in the other hand while dragging said child.
I feel sorry for those kids with morbidly obese parents who does not know what a f-ucking salad is!

I use a leash for my 22 month old and it comes in VERY handy. He gets to walk and get the exercise he needs and he can't run off. I use the leash when we go to the mall, Chuck E Cheese and the zoo - or anywhere it is crowded.

I am 120 pounds and 5'5" - I guess I would be the (1%) of mothers who are not obese.

True story: A friend of mine has two boys. She could most definitely use a leash. Heaven forbid if she ever lost these boys while she was shopping and had to call out their names. Their names are Roper and Ryder. I'm not making this up!

I think it's horrible ... but you know what the sad thing is? You can ask this same question in the parenting category, and the majority of mothers who are regulars on that category think it's perfectly fine to use a leash on a child.

I must be in that 1% then. I "leash" my 2 1/2 y/o. Its a cute little dog backpack that has the "leash" part for me. Having had him break free and run away from me in a crowded store, I got the leash to keep him by my side.

Obese or not, kids like to run and Moms can't be ever vigilant, try as they might. It only takes a moment for a child to run off and in today's world that can be deadly.I prefer to think the women are trying to protect their children not that they are fat and lazy.

as the mother of a 3yr old, i would never do it. My son is very active and likes to run off, but he knows when my voice is a certain "tone", he better stop when I say so. Also, I run after him if he trys to get away and keep my eye on him at all times outside of the home.

Ha. I would never put my kid on a leash. And the greatest thing about me saying that, is because I know I would never have a reason to. I pay attention to my children! My oldest is three, and even with his little attitude his is well behaved enough never to stray from Mommy in a public place.

I think it's disgusting. And lazy. They just don't want to bother training the kid how to stay close if he/she is out of the carriage. It does take about three weeks to do that. Wow. All you have to do is let them and when they wander put them back in,let them howl, endure, after a while they make the connection. I don't even know what those harnesses are supposed to do. Are you going to going to keep the child in it forever? No. So,they have to be trained anyway. Why wait?
