Well, I'll answer what I can: He has six test scores. The two in the middle would be averaged to get the median, so they have to average out to 85. The other four scores, two higher and two lower, would then have to average out to be 82 to make the average of the six 83. That's as far as we can get without knowing what the actual question is.
