Sure has. I just got a violation notice for having warned an asker that their question was about a common internet scam out of Africa and "Don't be stupid". Do you think someone like me, who has a constant 30%+ best answer rating was trying to be anything other than helpful?

Sheesh :-(

Absolutely, can we all get back to the "sticks and stones" mentality of yesteryear?
By the way, watch out for cartoons that may cause world wide riots!
By the way, liberal used to mean in defense of liberty, now .... could we shut down talk radio, it's too conservative!
Doesn't that seem fascist or dictatorial?
Why stop now- I'm not real happy with the you're a bigot if your not for open borders theme, either.
Sometimes I wonder if that whole New World Order is a lot more than a myth. Look at the Super highway being built through Mexico into Texas on to Canada.
One more thing, can we go back to the gold standard?
Oh, Merry Christmas!

It depends on the scenario. I think there are people who are almost looking for an excuse to get mad and I think to an extent giving into them is a very large mistake (see the mothers group that tried to go after the Simpsons and other such cases). With that said though I am all about, though it may not always seem like it, people being respectful to each other, or at least places you just don't go. I guess what I'm getting at is I would love to see a shift where people were raised to be respectful to everybody, but on the flip side were also raised to be able to take a joke and not just assume the worst of intentions.

Political correctness?! The only reason that even happens is because there are a bunch of over sensitive ex-drug abusing people in thier 30s, 40s and 50s who are so f***ing paranoid because of what they did when they were young. I am so sick of stupid people that can't get the foot out of thier a** and act like an adult and not worry about other peoples choices.

Politically correct enough for ya? bastards.

13) Political Correctness

a) "Political Correctness is in fact cultural Marxism-Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. The effort to translate Marxism from economics into culture did not begin with the student rebellion of the 1960s. It goes back at least to the 1920s and the writings of the Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci. In 1923, in Germany, a group of Marxists founded an institute devoted to making the transition, the Institute of Social Research (latter known as the Frankfurt School). One of its founders, George Lukacs, stated its purpose as answering the question, 'Who shall save us from Western Civilization?' The Frankfurt School gained profound influence in American universities after many of its leading lights fled to the United States in the 1930s to escape National Socialism in Germany." William S. Lind, "What is Political Correctness?" Free Congress Foundation.

b) "The Frankfurt School blended Marx with Freud, and later influences (some Fascist as well as Marxist) added linguistics to create 'Critical Theory' and 'deconstructionism.' These in turn greatly influenced education theory, and through institutions of higher education gave birth to what we now call Political Correctness. The lineage is clear, and it is traceable right back to Karl Marx." William S. Lind, "What is Political Correctness?" Free Congress Foundation.

c) "The parallels between cultural Marxism and classical, economic Marxism are also clear. Cultural Marxism, or Political Correctness, shares with classical Marxism the vision of a 'classless society,' i.e., a society not merely of equal opportunity, but equal condition. Since that vision contradicts human nature-because people are different, they end up unequal, regardless of the starting point-society will not accord with it unless forced. So, under both variants of Marxism, it is forced. This is the first major parallel between classical and cultural Marxism: both are totalitarian ideologies. The totalitarian nature of Political Correctness is fully visible on campuses where 'PC' has taken over the college: freedom of speech, of the press, and even of thought are all eliminated." William S. Lind, "What is Political Correctness?' Free Congress Foundation.

Of course it has! In the UK you cant say blackboard anymore, its chalkboard! A gingerbread man is now a gingerbread person! You have to be careful what you say how you say it and the tone that you use! You cant even tell a child its naughty as that may make it feel bad about itself! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Its insane! The way things are going you wont be able to hold a conversation without being accused of something!

Whats the answer?!

It seems to have toned down slightly, from back when some feminists wanted to have the words "woman" and "human" changed to "womyn" and "humyn", and such terms as "vertically challenged" and "horizontally inclined" weren't supposed to be jokes.

Are you kidding? It's the result of people taking "unwritten rules" and trying to make them law by cramming them down everyone else's throats! It had gone too far as soon as it began if you ask me.

Yes, it has. During the holiday season, you can't even say "Merry Christmas" anymore without worrying about offending someone. At my place of employment we have to say either "Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays". It's pathetic.
