Hi Manc Taxi, I was not in Brownies or Guides as I was not in with that crowd, although i really wanted to be.
I went out and did outdoor pursuits with the local youth club in Eccles and Winton. Ended up being a climbing and kayak instructor and as you know now live in a ski resort and give guided snowshoe tours in the winter.
So i learned a lot of team work in another route, but am now living the life i wanted to try so many years ago.
EDIT ~ I also went on to do my Duke of Edinburgh's gold award by myself.

I was a Brownie and a Girl Guide. I was also a member of the Girl's Friendly Society, which was linked to the Anglican Church and not anywhere near as perverted as it sounds.
Then I grew up. Left home (the Vicarage) and learnt a hell of a lot more when I joined the Arab Students Association at UNI.
However, I still remember to be prepared!
