My neigbors are beyond annoying. I can hear them talking in my apartment, all i hear all day are kids running up and down the stairs. I dont think i should have to hear this all day long every single day. The apartment manager just informed me that she isnt going to do anything and that if we dont like it maybe we should try to move. Stupid her its a lease. What should i do? I cant even hear ppl on my phone due to noise from these rude annoying mexican neighbors.

Here's a couple of ideas: first, check with the city's codes department (in the blue pages) to see if there's a noise ordinance. Find out the hours of the ordinance, and how loud noise has to be to become a violation.

Second, have a conversation with the neighbor. Let them know that the walls are thin, and everything from their conversations to their bathroom activities and bedroom activities are all easily heard by you. (To make it more interestig, you might add, heard by you and the guests you invite over to listen.) Ask them to hold it down.

Finally, approach the landlord and ask for a modification of the lease. If the apartment can't be made comfortable, will the apartment manager agree to terminate the lease so you can go find better lodgings?

Good luck.

We had the same problem and called the police. The manager won't like potential renters seeing cop cars there all the time and will hopefully start doing something about it.

You can tell the cops you hear yelling next door and that they need to check it out. Whether the cops come when you call or later, they still come. The manager will see this and it will get your point across either way.

Plus, if you do the written complaint make sure to keep a copy. Email works too. There is a spot where you can tell your email to let you know when she reads it. Print this off as well along with a copy saying it was sent and with the day and time on it. It doesn't matter if she throws it away, you will still have proof that you wrote a complaint. You could always send it via UPS requiring a signature so you will have a delivery date along with her signature proving she got it. Just track the letter online and print out the delivery confirmation. You can then take her to court and get out of your lease without paying penalties.

Write the manager a letter. Keep a copy. It will stand up in court. Call the police. You have a right to enjoy your quiet.

i would say confront them yourself....i heard you say it was mexican so first of all let me say im not a racist so im not biased and i say you should get an interpreter or someone who knows spanish....and confront the neighbor directly...it seems to stand true to the age old saying "if you want something done you gotta do it yourself"....
