From Boston or New York to NH?

Question

I have to go to New Hampshire, and I am trying to figure out how much money I would spend if I start from New York and how much money from Boston.

Is it better to take the bus or the train?

It depends on where in NH you are going. There is a bus that leaves from Boston every hour and goes to Portsmouth, NH that is about $30 round trip. It leaves from South Station. There is also a train that leaves from there too that is a little bit more and doesn't leave as often. The bus company is C&J Trailways and the train is Amtrak. The train goes a little farther north to Dover, NH. But once in Portsmouth you can take a Coast bus to get some places. If the place in NH you are looking for is not in the Portsmouth area then you will need to take a Greyhound bus closer to where you want to go.

There is also a bus compnay that goes from NYC Chinatown to Boston Chinatown as well that doesn't cost alot.

It is always cheaper to take the bus, but with that said I like the train better. They are just must nicer on the train and they give better service! Greyhound really does suck I have used them 5 times and each time has just been horrible! Depending on when you travel the train will cost you about $150 not too much! I hope this helps!

I have gone many times from Florida to Virginia by Greyhound Bus although the bus is the cheapest it is a little bit uncomfortable never tried Amtrak.
