Regardless of how the House voted, the fact remains that opening the roads to Mexican truckers is part of the NAFTA trade agreements that were signed by the President and approved by the Senate. (By the way, that was Democrat President Clinton).
Per USA Today's article:
"A one-year demonstration project would allow 100 Mexican motor carriers full access to U.S. roads. It can begin as soon as the inspector general certifies that safety and inspection plans and facilities are sufficient to ensure the Mexican trucks are as safe as U.S. trucks."
Hardly the bogeyman specter you are trying to paint.

This is the worst idea this regrettable administration has yet to palm off on the American people. More fatal accidents in California have occurred since Mexican truck drivers have been allowed to drive into the United States than at any time in history.
They drive at speeds over 70 and 80 miles an hour on the interstate; they use all lanes of the freeways instead of the slow lane and passing lane
They have no respect for the American Highway laws in any state.
They have no respect for anyone, period.
I think we should rise up en masse and demand that Mexican truck drivers not be allowed to drive in the United States. Period. end of law. Not now. Not ever.

The people in power only care about making themselves or their friends rich.... paying a Mexican truckriver is much cheaper than paying a American driver; who saves the money? The corporations. Where will these savings go? Into the corporate administrators in bonuses and salaries... these are the same people that rub shoulders with the national politicians.
No one in power cares for the common man anymore because they are not the common man. This is why we really need lobbying and campaign reform. Its time the American government is owned by the common people again.

News to me.
I thought Clinton had gotten that passed years ago.
He sure tried hard to.
I thought that Mexican Truckers have been crossing the Border, and going all over the US since the 90's.

Yep, President Bush is trying to cram the same globalist agenda that Bill Clinton started with NAFTA down our throats. Basically, both major parties are merely spineless puppets who will dance to whatever tune the owners of the Federal Reserve sing.

I agree with you. I am a recently converted Democrat, but certainly George W. Bush had nothing to do with it.

this is a superb question and one that i haven't seen talked about on any of the mainstream media.
this is at least as bad, security wise, as allowing the notorious UAE run 21 critical american ports.
jobs wise, this simply makes no sense - unless you consider that american corporations don't care which flag flies over washington, as long as they get paid.

Bush isn't much of a Republican the way he acts. He acts more like a democrat. You can keep him.
