Solve for x: | x - 2 |

I always get "x-2" but that can't be right, any other suggestions?

Any help is awesome, thanks a bunch!

TRUST ME, there is no hidden value that I missed, could it be something else? Please, it is an online timed test, any help again is welcome but please hurry!

No solution as the absolute value of something cannot equal to 0.

Just a guess if I remember what I never understood right.. x-2=0 x=2 x-2 is derived from two equations equal to zero and the result is equal to zero. It's an easy answer, I guess they just want you to undersand the principle at this point of it's a general test question. Oops, I think the guy above me is above me.

| | means absolute value (no matter what the answer comes out to inside the lines the absolute value makes it positive)

the parenthesis don't mean anything, so you can forget them. if x is the missing part and there is no other number, then it cant be anything. the value is 0, so your answer is 0

There has to be an equation in there somewhere, or a value for x.
